I played our new Minneapolis league member today. He is a very nice (big!) man and quite a celebrity: his name is Gibran Hamdan and he just ended his NFL career. He played for several teams including the Seahawks in 2006! Now he is working on his tennis. He has great technique already and has one advantage: he is a professional athlete...

On my vacation in California I was able to squeeze in two exhibition matches: one at Carmichael Park in Sacramento, and one at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Great deal! First time I played out-of-state Tennis Tour members (through the Player Search using zip codes). Returning home to Minnesota tomorrow, flying First Class...

Patrick Meniboon, Eden Prairie, MN, you challenged me a week ago, I answered you by email and text message and have not gotten a reply, do you still want to play, or what?

Minneapolis/West Burbs - Patrick Collins, or any one else who wants to play on a regular basis, I''m not concerned with your rating if your not, I just want to hit the ball for a couple hours a session as many times a week as possible. I''m out in the far West but would gladly split the difference with you if we could meet in, for example, Hopkins, St. Louis Park etc. I''m finding this a very strange league area for all the people who sign up and then don''t really want to play (not you Florian).

Puget Sound - I congratulate you & I envy you. Who wouldn''t? You have about 1000 (in words: ONE THOUSAND) more players in your leagues than any other location and you play many more matches than there are challenges...
I seriously consider a move to Seattle :)) We also seem to have even more rain than you here in Minnesota right now, which is amazing by itself.

Tip: if you''re cursed with a low-activity league like me and most of your challenges simply expire unanswered, you do have an additional way of contacting players.
The site (thanks, Brent!) reveals all contact information to fellow league members on profile pages, like email and phone numbers. So now you can also call people up to ask them why they ignored your challenges...
And if a player didn''t enter a phone number, it might be an indication that they''re not willing to go the extra mile to play you anyway (since phone numbers are only visible to league members and friends).
